Vava founded “Vava Coffee”, Kenya’s first female owned B-Corp, with the intention of connecting global markets with local producers and small holders. With the intention of creating stable and long term coffee partnerships for the farmers and families with sustainable livelihood being a loud and proud priority of the organisation.

Vava has a particular emphasis on empowering the female producer in Kenya and literally wrote a book about it: Coffee, Milk, Blood.

This coffee is an incredibly sweet, red berry rich Kenyan. We can’t get over how delicious this coffee is, and it is certainly a team favourite - especially in filter brews. If you are looking for a sweet, everyday coffee this is it.

About the processing: The coffee is delivered by the collective of farmers and then sorted (this lot is only SL28 AA) and pulped on the same day. After pulping the coffee is then placed on raised beds to dry for 14 days before being taken away for storage.

About the roast: This coffee has so much to offer in terms of bright fruitiness and sweetness that we decided a very light roast would work best with a shorter development time ratio of 7%. We directed this roast more towards filter, however, it will definitely be a beautifully fruity espresso!
